Austin Energy Residential Customers are eligible to get $800 back on eligible ENERGY STAR Certified Heat Pump Water Heaters. This rebate is good for purchases made through December 31, 2024 or while rebate funds are available for this program.
• The heat pump water heater must be installed in a residence served by an active Austin Energy electrical service account and the rebate applicant must own the property.
• The customer must be replacing an electric water heater in an existing home or installing the heat pump water heater in a new home.
• The purchased heat pump water heater must meet the following requirements:
o ENERGY STAR® certified and have a 40-gallon minimum tank size. See Qualified Products List.
o Be installed meeting all manufacturer requirements, applicable codes and adhering to all applicable building permit processes.
o Be permanently installed at the structure
o Carry a minimum six-year warranty on major components supplied by manufacturer
